Procedure
Melanocyte transfer
It is a surgical procedure that involves transferring healthy melanocytes, the cells that produce pigment, from one area of the body to another area where melanocytes are absent or not functioning properly, such as in cases of vitiligo or other skin disorders.
During the procedure, a small amount of skin is taken from an area of the body with healthy melanocytes, typically the thigh or buttocks. The melanocytes are then extracted from the skin sample and transferred to the affected area using a specialized tool. The procedure can be performed using either a punch biopsy or a split-thickness skin graft.
It is a day care procedure and patient can go home immediately after the procedure
